Our donors work hard and give generously; it inspires us to be excellent stewards of every dollar entrusted to our care. BCS trades discouragement for hope in an accountability-centered community where people learn to be responsible for meeting their own basic needs. We do this through financial, vocational, and practical training while providing food, clothing and educational assistance for families. It’s a powerful combination that has had a significant impact on working-poor families.

72% of the money BCS needs to operate in the year comes from internal sources (our fee for service and our recycling revenue).  That means we can be a stable nonprofit even when the economy is not so stable.
