Under the Good Samaritan Act of 1996, a federal statute, anyone who donates food in good faith to a food bank or gleaning organization is protected from liability associated with that product. In addition, Birch Community Services follows strict food handling and safety procedures to ensure that the people we serve receive the highest-quality food possible.  Birch Community Services is a U.S. Department of Agriculture and Oregon Department of Agriculture inspected facility.  We never sell, trade or barter food donations.
