  •       Old-Fashioned Bread Making  
    The next classes begin Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 9:00:00 AM - 1:00:00 PM

    You can learn how to bake bread step-by-step with award winning bread maker Skip Zimmerman. Join us on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm  for a fun class that involves all your senses. You'll love it.

    Supplies to bring: Metal bread pans ONLY and limbered up fingers!

    $10 refundable deposit holds your place in this class.

  •       Knitting Basics  
    The next classes begin Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 9:30:00 AM - 12:30:00 PM

    Join Angela Baker as she teaches basic knitting techniques.  If you've ever wanted to learn to knit, now is your chance!  A basic pattern will be supplied by Angela. The class will be held Saturday, February 25, 2012.

    The class size is limited to eight participants (12 years and up)

    Supplies needed include:

    • one skein of worsted weight yarn (yarn should be 100% WOOL or a wool-blend)
    • one pair of straight knitting needles, size 6 or 7 (either metal or bamboo) 

    A $10 registration fee holds your place in this class and is refundable upon attendance.

  •       BEGINNING Microsoft Excel Workshop  
    The next classes begin Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 6:00:00 PM - 9:00:00 PM

    In this class, Theresa Culbertson will give you an overview of:

    • Excel Workspace
    • Entering data
    • Formating data
    • Database

    Please bring disc or USB.

    The Beginning Microsoft Excel workshop will be held at the Birch Community Services warehouse on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

    Class size is limited to 10 students. A $10 refundable deposit holds your place in this class.

  •       Basic Photography  
    The next classes begin Monday, March 05, 2012 from 6:00:00 PM - 9:00:00 PM

    Get ready for those upcoming weddings and graduations with our new Basic Photography class. Amanda Campy of Visual Impressions Photography will facilitate this class to be held at the BCS warehouse.

    • You will learn: Basic operation for your camera
    • Introduction to basic photographic skills such as:
      • Rule of thirds-ways to make them and break them
      • Use of Negative and Positive Space
      • Leading Lines
      • Repeating Shapes
      • The use of Texture and Perspective in scenic photography
      • Reflections
      • Histograms-what they are and how to use them

    Class size is limited to 10 students ages 16 years and older. Register today!

  •       How to Make Your Own Mixes ...And More!  
    The next classes begin Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 9:00:00 AM - 12:00:00 PM

    Join Instructor Amy Guillen at the BCS warehouse for a class that will help you utilize some of your BCS groceries.

    Learn about:

    • Making your own mixes for hot chocolate, granola, sausage
    • There will also be ideas for storing food items
    • Thoughts shared on food dietary issues such as food allergies, medical restrictions, etc.

    This class meets Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is limited to 12 students.

    A $10 refundable deposit holds your place in this class.

    The next classes begin Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6:00:00 PM - 9:00:00 PM

    Come gain the tools you'll need as you travel the road to financial reaponsibility and freedoom! This QuickBooks class is facilitated by Katie Moller and is located at the BCS warehouse. Please join us on Wednesday, March 21st for this informative look at finances and how you can easily stay on top of your business.

    • Track sales and expenses: You'll be ready for tax time with complete and accurate records.
    • Easily create and manage invoices: Creating and customizing professional-looking invoices is so easy that you can have your first one in a client's hands in minutes.

  •       Social Security Disability & Medicare  
    The next classes begin Wednesday, April 04, 2012 from 6:00:00 PM - 9:00:00 PM

    Many of us have questions on Social Security Disability, and Medicare but have no clue where to go or who to talk to for information.  BCS will be offering a seminar that will be facilitated by three people who have expertise in the above mention areas.

    • Aviva Brown and Brian Wayson are attorneys who practice social security disability law and can help you find answers if a disabled child, parent or other family member is eligible for benefits, and how to pursue such help.
    •  Egbert Kunrath, a past-president of the BCS Board and an insurance/investment counselor, has expertise in Medicare insurance and will help you with your questions.

    The seminar will be held at the BCS warehouse on Wednesday, April 4th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    A $10 refundable deposit holds you place in this seminar. Size is limited to 12 so sign up early!

  •       Good $ense Class Spring 2012  
    The next classes begin Saturday, May 05, 2012 from 9:00:00 AM - 3:00:00 PM
    Good $ense curriculum is based on Christian principles and designed by the Willow Creek Association* to help you make a measurable difference in your life. If you and your spouse are committed to putting order to your financial life, we encourage you to participate in this life-changing series. These meetings are facilitated by Egbert Kunrath (past president of the BCS Board of Directors) who is an insurance/investment counselor. Egbert will be available to answer any questions that come up during the Good $ense course. **

    *This is Christian-based curriculum  ** A $15.00 workbook fee is the only cost for this class 

    The Spring session of the Good $ense class begins Saturday, May 5th from 9am. to 3pm.  This series continues on consecutive Saturdays for a total of two all-day sessions.
