Are you serious about getting your finances in order?
This series, curriculum by Willow Creek Association, can help you make a
measurable difference. If you, or you and your spouse are committed to getting
your finances in order, we encourage you to participate in this series which
begins Tuesday, April 5, 2005 and ending May 10, 2005 at the Birch Community
Services warehouse waiting room at 7:30 p.m. These meetings will be
facilitated by Egbert Kunrath (President of our Board of Directors), an
insurance/investment counselor, who will be available to answer any questions
you may have.

What’s your commitment?
- The series will be more profitable if approached seriously as a team. We encourage couples to attend together.
- Come every week for six weeks, 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (No childcare available.)
- The evening involves interactive discussion with others struggling with similar issues as yourselves. Please be prompt!
- The workbook is $12.00, the only cost.
- Weekly homework is up to two hours.
What’s your gain?
Freedom! Financial stresses affect our emotional stability, our relationships with spouses and our relationship with God.
Please have your check for the workbook, made out to Birch Community Services, Inc., and enrollment form (available at front desk) returned to BCSI no later than March 19.
- Watch for the flyer at the front desk advertising our upcoming free class entitled
"Success at Work." This is an invaluable class for anyone of working age, offering great
ideas about job hunting and resume writing. The class will take place on Thursday,
March 31, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00. Sign up now!
- March is our "Count the Value" Month. Every year we have our participants count the
value of what they receive from BCSI for one month. Last year the average take-home value
was $584! This is an enlightening experience for our families, and extremely helpful
information for our grant writing. Please make sure you get the blue "count" sheet, and
fill it out for four weeks in March. If you miss one week, you may make it up with an April
value. Thanks for helping us in this way.
- In March you'll see a beautiful quilt hanging in the waiting room of BCSI. This was made
by participants who have taken one of our quilt classes taught by Jane Burgess, and will be
raffled off in May. Take part in the fun, and enroll in our next Quilting Class March 26
(forms available at the front desk), and/or purchase a raffle ticket for $1. Proceeds will
benefit the BCSI fund that purchases and repairs our equipment.
- Also, we'll be having a few new and unique classes beginning on March 19 with our
BASIC SEWING CLASS. This and our HOME DECORATING ON A BUDGET class (April 2) will be
taught by Tina Birch (www.domesticgraces.com), and promise to be an exciting addition to
our class repertoire. Registration forms can be found at the front desk in the waiting
room.
- Last but not least, we're thankful to the Arthur Murray Dance Studio on NE Broadway,
and owner Marta May for the monthly use of their lovely studio. The first Saturday of
every month the manager, Wayne Herendeen, and Heather teach a free class to our BCSI
participants. This has been a fun and challenging experience for many of our couples who
have actually been able to be close to one another without a child between them.
Participation is by registration only, and these classes have remained overbooked since we
began in December of 2004. Watch for the next class registration beginning March 7, 2005
